"Dr. Mr. Tips On St. Patrick's Day last week, my wife and I stayed at The Fairmount in San Antonio. While we have been frequent travelers to San Antonio over the years, this marked the first time we stayed at your hotel. Without question, this experience was the highlight of our trip.
The Fairmount is so unique and reflects the grace, charm and elegance of San Antonio. Your motto "The Jewel of San Antonio" is certainly fitting. The style and de´cor of the rooms almost takes you back to the turn of the 19th century. And of course, Luke adds his own special canine charm to the hotel. But it is your staff that makes this hotel so great.
We endured a long day of missed flights coupled with several delays so our arrival was well into the late evening. The hotel staff was total professionals who really cared about making our stay comfortable. They were friendly, courteous, and ready to assist in every way possible. Amazingly, this attitude was reflected in the staff regardless whether at night or during the day. Even though our arrival was late, they helped us find a late nightcap, dinner and opportunity to enjoy St. Patrick's Day on the Riverwalk. The bottom line is they guided us in the right direction and our enjoyment was their concern.
Most important during our brief stay, my wife lost her necklace and we were unable to find it in the room. While its value is more sentimental than monetary, it was a gift from our daughters and she wore it constantly. By the time we arrived home from Texas, an envelope with the necklace was waiting for us. This honesty and simple action by your housekeeping staff is the real "Jewel". It is so rare that someone would have the compassion to find and return this necklace. Often we become cynical about integrity, but The Fairmount stands clearly above others. Simple honesty is an irreplaceable gem.
